Hey guys, my name is Dion and welcome back to another Nord VPN video. In this video, we’re gonna be doing a review and taking a detailed look at Nord VPN. But first, Why get a VPN? a VPN or virtual private network is a service that protects your internet connection and privacy online. It creates an encrypted tunnel for your data and protects your online identity by hiding your IP address. VPN also allow you to bypass internet restrictions and access contents that is normally only available in specific countries. Today, we’re looking at Nord VPN. Nord VPN is one of the most established and reputable VPN out there and provides lots of features and support for a very compelling price. If you’re interested in purchasing Nord VPN, I will leave links in the description to the best possible offers for your plan. Let’s dive in. Nord VPN has over 5400 servers in 59 countries all over the world. This is an incredibly expensive list to choose from. Moreover, Nord VPN is supported on all major desktop and mobile operating systems, even supporting browser extensions and smart TVs. A feature I really like is the ability to connect up to six devices at any given time, I’ll go over the different plans later in the video. But rest assured, you can most likely support all of your devices at once under a single Nord VPN account. Now before we go into all of the features and test, I want to quickly go over the user interface of the actual application itself. Now in this case, we’ll be running Nord on Mac OS. And you can see that right off the bat we have a very inviting simplistic and visual interface, we have a world map that will visually show you exactly all the different locations that they have. And along the left will have a list view of all the different countries that you can connect to, as well as any presets or specialty servers you may want to use. Overall, I find this to be a very easy to use application, the visual interface is inviting and very easy to navigate. I did mention though in a previous video that it would be nice to have some descriptions or info buttons around some of the many features that Nord offers. This is to allow new users to more quickly learn. Thankfully, their website though is full of useful resources. Alright, let’s take a look at the speed test. Now I’ve run several tests and put the data in this table. First off, we have the baseline. So this is the speed test results with no VPN connected. And as you can see, I averaged around 59 megabytes download and 5.3 megabytes upload using Quick Connect where Nord finds what it believes to be the best server in this case, the UK as I am based in the UK, you can see that speeds are very much retained. And you’ll see this throughout the other speed tests. In this case only seeing a very slight drop in download and upload speed. But this is only a difference of around 5%. We see even better results for example Sweden and Israel where there’s only a 2% change. Further down in the US I’ve connected to both east and west coasts and found the numbers to be very strong. In LA, for example, there’s no drop at all in speeds. Finally in Asia, I found even better results in Japan in particular, actually providing higher download speeds compared to the baseline. Of course, there are many factors and variables that affect these results. But the point is that if you’re concerned insignificant drops in performance, you can see that this is really not an issue with Nord VPN….ran out of the 5k character limit, sorry guys.

It’s not often that a VPN has cheap prices coupled with an excellent set of features. Yet, in my NordVPN review, this is exactly what I found. Hey, hello and welcome to Tech house. My name is Nick and today we’re going to be reviewing at Nord VPN. In this review, we’re going to be talking about Nord VPN as a whole to see if the features are right for you. If instead, you’re looking for a detailed analysis of what Nord VPN has to offer, I have done a separate video on that topic, and I’m going to link it in the description below. Also in the description, you’re going to find all the links to anything I mentioned in this video. So check that out. And without further ado, let’s get into the video. Alright, so personally, I have reviewed quite a lot of VPNs on this channel. Now there are many VPNs out there and they have their pluses and minuses. But in this video, I’m going to show you what makes Nord VPN stand out from the rest. And the thing that makes it so special is the amount of speciality servers they managed to pack into their app without making it unnecessarily complicated. If you’re someone who just wants to download a VPN, change your location and start watching Netflix, then that is just one click away. But also, if you’re a tech savvy person who wants to get the best speeds, extra security, double VPN, kill switches and other bells and whistles, then this thing has all these extra features built in there as well. Let’s start off with the interface. Personally, I think that this is one of the better represented VPNs out there, even though it lacks this one big Connect button, which no you should press in order to connect. I think the map layout is absolutely great, because you can see how far away these servers are and estimate latency. For example, I see that Croatia is closer to Italy. So I just click to connect. And there I go. And on the left hand side you have the search and then the most recent connected servers, and then he can scroll down to the country list all the way down. And if you highlight one of the countries, for example, United States and press these three dots over here, it also allows you to choose a region or a server. Bear in mind that United States is pretty much the only one that is allows you to choose a region worldwide there are others only allow you to choose a server. And then going down to the very bottom there’s speciality servers which have this dedicated IP, double VPN, obfuscated servers, onion over VPN and p2p peer to peer connections. Those are, as I mentioned before, one of the best things I think about Nord VPN, I find that if you don’t see these servers go here to the top where it says preferences. And where it says VPN protocol, make sure that it’s open VPN, UDP. If you’re using the faster Nord links protocol, as we’re going to do now, you’re going to see that the speciality servers disappear, but you gain a lot more speed. And speaking of set speed, let’s do a speed test. So I’m going to disconnect from VPN and hit go on a speed test to get a basis setting to see how fast my internet connection is. And you can see that today I’m getting 938 megabits per second, that’s almost a whole gigabit of speed. Now I’m just going to press Quick Connect and Nord VPN is going to connect to the server which it thinks is best for me. Now let’s go ahead and rerun this speed test one more time. And you can see that it’s going really, really fast as a matter of fact, 895 megabits per second, I haven’t seen any other VPN match at this speed. My opinion, Nord VPN is the fastest VPN out there. I have tested that time and time again, and with consistent results, it provides a great, great speeds.

What’s up everyone, Patrick here and in today’s video, I’ll be showing you how to use Nord VPN on a Windows PC or desktop computer. Now Nord VPN is one of the top available VPN services on the market today. And if you don’t know what a VPN is, it simply stands for virtual private network. And it allows you to remain anonymous. While you’re browsing online. This is great if you’re trying to stream region locked videos or movies or if you’re trying to torrent and remain anonymous, whatever the reason, a VPN is the way to go and include a link down in the description to Nord VPN. So you can go ahead and download it and follow along with me today. And of course, include any discounts or deals that come along with that. So jumping right into it, the first thing you’ll do is head over to Nord vpn.com, and then download the app for yourself after downloading and installing it, you can open it up from your desktop and log in. Once you’re logged in, you’ll be greeted with a nearly identical screen to mine, which is a map of the world along with all these little location icons. Now all of these icons simply mean that Nord VPN has service available in those countries. And this is great, especially if you’re trying to connect to a region locked site or streaming platform, and you need to appear like you’re in another country. Now, clicking on any one of these will quick connect to the best available connection within that country for you. And then clicking on the disconnect button at the bottom will simply allow you to disconnect from that and you’re no longer browsing privately. If you want a full list of all of the available countries, you’ve got that on the left side over here, hovering over any one of these, and then clicking on it will then allow you to obviously Quick Connect. But if you want to jump in and take a look at the specific servers or regions for yourself, you can click on these three dots or right click on any one of these. And if they have multiple regions available, you’ll see a region drop down list and a server drop down list. Now, by default, all of these are set to the fastest, but you can go in and choose one that’s better for you. Now, you might want to pick one that’s closer, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be a quicker connection, it all comes down to the hardware and then your internet connection just to the internet as a whole because you’re first connecting to your local line. And then that’s routing you all the way to your region and server for your VPN and then that’s taking you to your destination. So it’s natural that there will be a little bit of latency or delay in that. But that’s where Nord Lynx comes in handy. Now Nord Lynx is a proprietary protocol. And VPN protocols are simply the way that your service is able to talk to the server itself, the international standard is open VPN, and that’s the open source version. And almost all if not all, VPN services have this protocol available. However, Nord VPN and some other VPN services have their own proprietary protocols, because they’ve invested an awful lot into their hardware and infrastructure and want to make sure you’re getting the best bang for your buck while connecting to their hardware. Now, if you wanted to, you can go ahead and change these protocols as you see fit by going to the gear icon at the top and clicking on that this will open up all of your settings. And from here, you can see the general settings tab, which is simply your launch options. All of these options are going to be self explanatory, and that’s through all of these different settings menu. But what we’re interested in is the auto Connect, this will show you whether or not you connect whenever you’re on Wi Fi, if you want your device to always no matter what be running with your VPN, whenever… ran out of the 5k characters limit, sorry guys.
