Thumbnails Not Showing in windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10
Today we are going to see how to resolve the issue where you cannot see the thumbnail preview of images.
Despite choosing the option “Large Icons” from View, we cannot see the thumbnail preview for any images.
So all you need to do is to follow these simple steps.
 Go to start menu and select file explorer.
 Select View tab from the top and then click on “Options”
 Now in the new pop up named “Folder Options”, go to “View” tab.
 Make sure that this option which says “Always show icons, never thumbnails” is unchecked.
If that option is checked then the thumbnail preview for images are not available.

Ask: The problem is that we can’t preview any .xlsx file in the Windows Explorer preview pane. All it says is \”No Preview Available\” in the pane. (or \”this file can’t be previewed\”)
All other Microsoft office file types can be previewed file, along with many other file types such as .txt, .pdf, .jpg, .bmp, etc. I’ve already tried repairing Microsoft Office and that hasn’t solved the problem. The Excel files open just fine and can be edited in Excel fine. Everything works fine except for the Windows Explorer preview pane with .xlsx files.
Answer: I was finally able to solve the problem. The problem was within the registry, just not in the entries Mike400 sent. (Thanks again Mike400!)
At the very bottom of the list is the Microsoft Excel Previewer entry. That has to be as it is below. Before there was a crazy long hex code in the Value field that was the problem.
